The Old Quarter in Hanoi – I was lucky enough to have traveled to Hanoi old town, to my family decided to move to another location in southern Vietnam. This area is only 1000 years in the center of Hanoi and very well known for its history and charm. The area was in the 11th Founded century, when King Ly Thai To chose Hanoi became the capital of Vietnam in 1010 and then called Hanoi Soaring Dragon. Although the old neighborhood often referred to as “the 36 old streets”, it may actually have more roads (see my list below). Most street names begin with the word “Hang”, meaning “shop”, and the next word after that would be a specific product names may be for sale on this street. For example, we have Silver Street (a street, where the products were sold in silver), Cotton Street (cotton products), etc.
